History

Tactile Medical was founded in 2003 as a medical device company focused on clinical need for treatments for patients with chronic wounds and related conditions. Initially, Tactile Medical was producing products for home treatment of arterial ulcers. In 2005, Tactile Medical developed the Flexitouch system, the first medical device to provide intermittent pneumatic compression therapy for patients suffering from chronic venous insufficiency and lymphedema. The Flexitouch system is indicated for treatment of lymphedema, venous insufficiency, venous stasis ulcers, and other forms of edema. In 2008, Tactile Medical began marketing the Entre system, their medical device that enables the patient to treat their own edema with intermittent pneumatic compression.
