Taylor Hersom

Taylor Hersom is an entrepreneur and cybersecurity expert who founded and currently leads Eden Data, a cybersecurity firm that builds world-class security programs for the next generation of businesses.

With a keen understanding of cybersecurity and compliance, Taylor's experience advising Fortune 500 companies on compliance and security tactics at Deloitte and as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a local firm made him one of the youngest executive-level security officers in the industry.

Taylor is also a global security thought leader for multiple organisations, managing his professional and personal brand through two founded companies: Eden Data and Millennial CISO, and additionally as CompTIA’s first-ever Cybersecurity Advisory Council on the Board. 

Taylor's focus on building security and privacy into the DNA of businesses has helped many organisations realise the benefits of putting data privacy first, from brand recognition to customer loyalty, while realising substantial ROI. 

Having earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems and Services from the University of Montana, Taylor has developed a strong foundation of knowledge and expertise in both cybersecurity and entrepreneurship. 

Taylor Hersom is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in the field of technology and cybersecurity. His career began as an Implementation Consultant Intern at Fast Enterprises, where he gained valuable experience in implementing software solutions. He then moved on to work as a Senior EMR Specialist at Essia Health, where he successfully implemented the Epic EMR system at various hospitals while ensuring HIPAA compliance and providing exceptional customer service.

Taylor's passion for cybersecurity led him to become a Life Sciences/Healthcare Advisory Senior Consultant at Deloitte. In this role, he consulted with clients in the Life Sciences and Healthcare industries, analysing securities around financial systems and implementing IT solutions. 

Continuing his journey in the cybersecurity field, Taylor served as the Chief Information Security Officer at RSI - Renaissance Systems, Inc. In this role, he was responsible for creating and managing all aspects of information security, privacy, and regulatory compliance. He built an internal security program that became a competitive differentiator, ensuring strategic and operational alignment and driving the direction of the RSI Innovation Center.

Taylor's expertise in cybersecurity expanded as he became a Cyber Evangelist at CyberCompass and a Cybersecurity Advisory Council Member at CompTIA. In these roles, he actively contributed to the cybersecurity community by sharing his knowledge and insights with industry professionals and organisations.

Currently, Taylor serves as the Founder and CEO of Eden Data, a company focused on creating a future where organisations can bring their innovative ideas to fruition while maintaining data security and privacy. Under his leadership, Eden Data offers services such as data protection and governance strategy, virtual CISO and compliance officer services, and risk management.
