In 1999, chiropractors Derrick Deadman and Eric Criswell established The Joint Corp. It started as a discount chiropractic membership plan and after its success, Deadman and Criswell launched their first franchised clinic in 2002. Since then, the company has grown rapidly and now has more than 500 franchisee-owned locations in 42 states in the United States.
