History

T?ky? Gas Company Ltd. was founded in 1889 and was the first gas provider in Tokyo. It operated under the name Tokyo Gas Light Company until 1952, when it underwent rebranding and changed its name to T?ky? Gas Co., Ltd. Since then, the company has grown and acquired more customers throughout Japan. In 1982, the company opened its first liquefied natural gas plant in Chiba, becoming the first gas provider in Japan to do so.
