The team continues to refine the technology, designing the most sought-after golf software used in simulators. In 1999 American video game developer Access Software was acquired by Microsoft for its expertise in golf software development. Following the acquisition TruGolf maintained the core programming and graphics team of Links™, renowned as the best selling PC golf franchise. That said, golf simulators have come a long way. In addition to offering custom, professional and portable golf simulators, TruGolf's latest launch monitor- APOGEE- is accurate and easy-to-use with features like Voice Command System that allows users to navigate their E6 Connect gameplay within rounds and practice sessions.. a laser indicator that shows users where to place the ball and when the system is ready to record a swing… and Point-of-Impact slow-motion replay video. For every swing taken, it measures multiple data points from both the Ball and Club. In-game ball flight is always based on real, measured data. APOGEE gathers shot data with a proprietary high-speed stereoscopic camera system and the new Instant Impact image analysis algorithm that measures information from both Club and Ball, and simulates on-screen shots with no lag or delay.

These new advances open a new frontier for virtual golf. In recent news TruGolf has collaborated with IMG Golf Course Services- a global leader in the design, development, marketing and management of world class golf courses- to provide E6 Connect subscribers with access to virtual recreations of IMG Golf Course Services' most stunning venues around the world. The first content released will feature Italy’s Royal Golf La Bagnaia, an eighteen-hole championship golf course designed by famed architect Robert Trent Jones Jr.
