The company was founded in 1946 and is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.
History

Wacoal was founded in Japan in 1946 and was named after the town of Wak? in Yamanashi Prefecture, where the founder and early operations were based. It has advanced and expanded its lingerie design and production capabilities, producing one of the world’s top lingerie brands. In 1975, the company opened its first overseas subsidiary in Hong Kong, followed by subsidiaries in the US, France and China.
