History
Weichai Power was established in 2002 when two well-known Chinese machinery companies, Shandong Heavy Industrial Group and Fujian Motor Industries Group, merged together. Weichai Power’s first focus was on the production and sale of diesel engines, with natural gas engines being introduced into the product portfolio in 2004. Following its rapid growth, Weichai Power went public in 2007 on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
