Summary

Wholesome Culture is not just a clothing brand, but a movement aiming to create a kinder and more sustainable world. Their mission is to inspire people to adopt a sustainable and mindful lifestyle rooted in the belief that every decision made with consideration for animals, the environment, and fellow humans can have a positive impact.

To live up to their values, Wholesome Culture prints their designs in the USA using eco-friendly water-based ink; their clothes are manufactured ethically in WRAP certified factories using organic and eco-friendly materials and they prioritise environmentally friendly practices by shipping orders in biodegradable packaging. In alignment with their mission, Wholesome Culture donates 10 per cent of their profits to causes that share their values, including animal rescues and environmental organizations. By providing clothes that not only make customers feel amazing but also reflect these values, Wholesome Culture aims to make a positive difference in the world.

History

Wholesome Culture was founded by Audrey Castonguay in November 2016. It was destined. She has always been an animal lover and passionate about doing her part to help protect the planet. These two passions led her to launch sustainable fashion brand Wholesome Culture with products that are consciously designed and made to help wearers feel good while doing good by making production ethical, empowering and environmentally responsible.

“Inspiring people to live a sustainable and mindful lifestyle. Together, let's feel whole again, through what we consume, what we wear and how we treat ourselves, the planet and the animals,” Audrey Castonguay on LinkedIn.

In terms of sustainability, the fashion brand strives to minimize its environmental impact.by using eco-friendly materials like organic cotton and recycled fabrics in addition to water-based, non-toxic inks  for printing, which are free of harmful chemicals and soak naturally into fabrics. The fashion brand proudly declares on its official website that their tee’s are 100 per cent made of ethically grown cotton and their fleece products are made with 40 per cent certified post-consumer recycled Polyester and 60 per cent ethically grown cotton. Additionally, the fashion brand focuses on ethical production practices, ensuring fair wages and safe working conditions for their employees.

Every Wholesome Culture order is printed on demand in Canada, ensuring that there is no excess production and no waste. The products are created in manufacturing facilities that are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, which guarantees that our garments are dyed under these standards and are free of harmful chemicals. Any order received by consumers has been tested and officially approved as safe for the wearer and the earth. Moreover, Global Recycled Standard certifications verify the traceability and recycled polyester content of products.

Currently, Wholesome Culture ships to the US, Canada, Europe and Australia, with a few exceptions. And at this time they are unable to ship to Belarus and Russia. Payment is simple: it can be made through ShopPay, major Credit Cards, PayPal or Klarna for customers based in the US. And, if consumers need an order returned or exchanged, the extra inventory is donated to a non-profit organization which needs it more than the consumer does! What’s more, all orders are shipped in packaging made of biodegradable materials.

Wholesome Culture also collaborates with artists who believe in inspiring people through their creativity and the collection of printed tees, sweats, and accessories show the work of such artists who believe in the power of positivity. Per the official website, “By lifting each other up, and having fun along the way, we can grow a Wholesome Culture of influence in a world eager for change.”

Apart from their commitment to sustainable fashion, Wholesome Culture also supports a number of charitable causes. The brand gives back ten per cent of their profits to causes that align with their mission, like animal rescues and environmental organizations. Reportedly, till date, they have donated $72,000 and 22,537 Tees to non-profit organizations. They also regularly run fundraisers and promotional campaigns where a portion of the profits from the sale of a certain product or collection is donated to a non-profit organization. By aligning the brand with these values, Wholesome Culture aims to make a positive impact on the world… through fashion.

“We believe every choice made in consideration of animals, the environment, and our fellow humans makes a positive impact. You can feel great wearing our clothes knowing those values guide everything we do. Our Giving Back Program is one of the most important ways we’re living our values,” per the official website.

It’s what inspires our happy, healthy, comfortable design aesthetic, and keeps us accountable to the future of our planet.”
