A new report released by Aitools.xyz, a leading AI tools directory, provides a comprehensive analysis of the global AI market’s performance in February 2025. The study highlights robust growth across AI platforms, identifies the most trending tools, and reveals key differences in how male and female users engage with AI technology.

The AI sector continues to expand at a rapid pace. In February 2025, global AI tools received 12.05 billion total web visits, representing a 14.44% increase compared to the previous month. This growth equates to 1.52 billion additional visits across over 10,500 AI platforms monitored by Aitools.xyz.

Among the platforms, ChatGPT remains the most visited AI tool, recording 5.20 billion monthly visits, with a growth of 500 million visits in February. However, DeepSeek emerges as the most trending tool for the month, surpassing ChatGPT in traffic growth by adding 524.7 million new visits. This marks an impressive growth rate of approximately 6,190.48% from December 2024 to February 2025.

The data is collected and analysed by Aitools.xyz, which tracks over 10,500 AI tools categorised into 171 functional areas. The platform uses tools like SEMrush and Ahrefs to monitor and evaluate monthly web traffic, user demographics, source distribution, device usage, and engagement statistics. This enables a detailed overview of the size and behaviour of the AI tool market.

Gender breakdown and demographic divide

The report highlights a notable demographic divide in AI tool usage. Of the 12.05 billion web visits, 58.83% (7.09 billion) are attributed to male users, while 41.17% (4.96 billion) are from female users.

This divide extends to tool preferences and categories, with men and women using AI tools for different purposes:

  • Male users predominantly engage with tools focused on coding, image generation, search engines, and chatbots. These include platforms such as Midjourney, Cursor, Perplexity, Talkie AI, and Runway.
  • Female users show greater interest in tools supporting grammar correction, content creation, education, and business operations. Key platforms include QuillBot, Gauth, Odoo, Beacons, and Slidesgo.
