Strapi Launches Major Updates at StrapiConf 2025

Strapi unveils key updates at StrapiConf 2025, including real-time editing, an AI-assisted Content-Type Builder (private beta), and a new Free Cloud plan for prototypes. Enterprises gain easier deployment via AWS Marketplace. Integrations with Cloudinary, Shopify, and BigCommerce, plus a Homepage Widget API, enhance usability.

Strapi, the company behind the world’s leading open-source headless Content Management System (CMS), hosts its inaugural in-person event, StrapiConf 2025, in Paris, attracting over 350 attendees on site and thousands more online.

The conference features insights from industry leaders including Adidas, Airbus, and Yatra, alongside Strapi’s announcement of key product advancements aimed at simplifying CMS use, accelerating project delivery, and maintaining headless architecture flexibility.

Strapi introduces a live preview feature enabling editors to update content on one side of the admin panel while instantly viewing changes on the other side. This one-screen workflow removes the need for tab-switching or site rebuilds, significantly reducing review cycles and errors. By streamlining content updates, teams can publish faster without losing the adaptability of a headless CMS.

“From real-time editing to AI-assisted schema design, we’re closing the gap between idea and launch while keeping the freedom of a fully headless architecture,” said Pierre Burgy, Strapi co-founder and CEO.

AI-assisted content-type builder in private beta

One of the most notable innovations revealed is the Strapi AI Content-Type Builder, currently in private beta. This conversational assistant transforms project briefs, code repositories, or Figma designs into complete content models within seconds. Developers describe their project vision, and Strapi AI generates Collection Types, Components, and relationships automatically.

The tool includes visual change-tracking and drag-and-drop reordering, turning what previously required hours of manual content modelling into a matter of minutes. This advancement directly addresses common issues such as poor content structure, which can lead to performance problems, difficult maintenance, and frustrating user experiences for marketing teams.

Strapi also announces the availability of a new Free Cloud plan, suitable for prototypes and straightforward blogs or websites. The plan offers ample storage and bandwidth without the need for credit card information. As projects grow, users can upgrade to paid plans that provide additional environments, automated backups, and higher limits, facilitating seamless scaling for teams.

Enterprise deployment made easier with AWS marketplace

For larger organisations, Strapi now offers production cluster deployment through AWS Marketplace. This integration allows enterprises to quickly set up Strapi environments, benefit from unified AWS billing, and access 24×7 infrastructure support. By simplifying procurement, this listing shortens the time required to realise value from Strapi’s platform.

Strapi expands its ecosystem with built-in integrations for Cloudinary, Shopify, and BigCommerce, all available for version 5 users. Marketers can attach products directly via Shopify and BigCommerce product pickers without additional plugins, while Cloudinary’s media picker facilitates efficient asset reuse.

Furthermore, the new Homepage Widget API offers developers the ability to customise the homepage with features such as calendars, analytics, or bespoke workflows, enabling the CMS to align closely with specific business processes.
