History

openbusinesscouncil was founded in 2013 by Co-Founders Dinis Guarda and Hilton Supra to offer a global open business directory and resource hub and enable the businesses, organisation, governments with digital solutions and certification.
The first openbusinesscouncil Summit took place in November 2018.

Owing to the global pandemic crisis, the openbusinesscouncil Summit in 2020 was a virtual event. The aim of this Summit was to strengthen businesses, startups, and governments with digital transformation strategies and how to deal with the economic challenges and technology disruption due to COVID-19.

The platform launched its YouTube podcast series in 2019 with a focus on profiling global leading inspiring people, leaders, CEOs, authors, technologists, academics. The channel highlight ideas, products, inventions, software, books & solutions to the challenges/opportunities the world faces with the advent of Emergent Technologies Society 5.0, Digital Transformation, 4IR, AI, Blockchain, Metaverse, Fintech IoT. Currently, the platform has access to a network of more than 10 million global audience. 

openbusinesscouncil also announced its global partnership with eTrade Alliance (funded by USAID) in 2021 to offer Digital Corporate Identity and enabling trade finance and supply chain for its users across the world through its marketplace. 
The platform has also been able to make robust trade corridors globally with its collaborations and partnerships with economies including that of India, Turkey, Singapore, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Vietnam, Pakistan, Israel, and China, to name a few.

Mission

SMEs often face challenges when operating on online platforms. Lack of digital skills and non-adaptive business models are frequent barriers. Data from the World Bank and OECD shows that online platforms are central to the digital transition of society and provide important channels for growth.
