Janet holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Geology from the University of Greenwich, where she achieved first-class honours. She later completed a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geosciences from Imperial College London, followed by a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Essex, where she graduated with distinction. Her thesis on Explainable Artificial Intelligence for Banking Regulatory Compliance highlighted her interest in the application of AI in regulatory environments.
 

Janet’s professional career began in the financial sector. She worked at Aviva as a Programme Manager, leading various initiatives, including managing the rollout of the International Accounting Standards programme. Later, at RBS, Janet served in several roles, including Head of Strategic Projects and Change Management and Head of Conduct. Her work focused on implementing regulatory changes and managing strategic projects within the retail banking sector. She also played a key role in delivering customer-focused initiatives that led to improved customer satisfaction scores.
 

Janet transitioned into leadership positions at HSBC and TSB Bank, where she focused on AI, automation, and process optimisation. At TSB, she was Head of Strategic Projects and Performance for the SME bank, where she drove AI and machine learning projects. In 2021, Janet became the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SingularityNET, a leading company in decentralised AI and blockchain technology.
