Biography
Joanna Moczadlo began her higher education at London Metropolitan University, where she completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. Her studies covered subjects including Company Law, Investment Law & Practice, Business Taxation, and Contract Law. As part of her academic work, she completed a law project titled “The role and importance of non-executive directors in UK listed companies.”
After completing her undergraduate degree, Joanna pursued professional legal training at BPP Law School. There, she completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC), with modules in Business Law & Practice, Litigation, Property Law, Solicitors' Accounts, Client Interviewing & Advising, Advocacy, and Wills & Administrative Estate.
She also completed electives in Corporate Finance, Employment, Commercial Law & Intellectual Property, and an additional module titled The Law Firm as a Business. During her time at BPP, she participated in the Legal Awareness Society, Commercial Awareness Society, and Finance & Investment Society.
Joanna holds a Practising Certificate issued by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, which qualifies her to practise law in the United Kingdom. She is also a qualified Attorney-at-Law in the United States, registered with the Alabama State Bar.
In 2014, Joanna started her professional career as a White Collar Crime Legal Executive Officer at the Serious Fraud Office (UK). She worked there until February 2016, gaining experience in financial crime investigations and compliance.
In April 2016, she became an Employment Paralegal at Henderson Chambers in London. She worked there for ten months, until January 2017, focusing on employment law matters and supporting legal casework.
In July 2017, Joanna joined Duncan Lewis Solicitors Ltd. as a Legal Aid and Public Law Specialist. She worked at the firm until January 2018, engaging in public law cases and supporting clients through legal aid.
From January 2018 to June 2018, she worked as a Data Protection and Public Law Specialist at the London Borough of Lambeth, focusing on data privacy and public sector legal matters.
In June 2018, Joanna joined Nuffield Health as a Data Protection and Contracts Manager. She worked there for six months, until November 2018, where she handled data protection compliance and contract management.
In October 2019, she became the Data Protection & Compliance Manager (Global Privacy) at Lyca Group. She worked there until June 2020, overseeing privacy compliance and data governance across the company’s global operations.
In June 2020, Joanna joined the London Borough of Redbridge as a Senior Contracts Procurement & Information Lawyer, where she worked until June 2021. She contributed to procurement strategy, data privacy, and contract governance for public sector operations.
In July 2021, she worked for Guildford Borough Council as a Specialist Lawyer – Projects, Corporate and Commercial. She remained in the role until October 2021, advising on corporate transactions and commercial projects.
From October 2021 to February 2022, she worked at Milton Keynes Council as a Senior Lawyer - Commercial & Corporate Projects, Public Procurement and Governance, advising on complex public procurement processes and corporate governance matters.
In February 2022, Joanna joined Hertz as Legal Counsel – EMEA and APAC. She worked there until July 2022, managing contract negotiations and providing legal counsel across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific regions.
In July 2022, she worked as a Legal Consultant through AG Integrate at Addleshaw Goddard, assigned to Border to Coast Pensions Partnership. She served in this role until December 2022, supporting corporate governance and project advisory services.
In November 2022, Joanna joined Ballantines LLP as a Partner. She continues to work there as of 2025, leading the corporate, commercial, and data privacy team. She serves as Co-Founder and Managing Director, supporting international investors in property portfolio building.
