Summary

Jonathan Perkins is a software engineer & entrepreneur with diverse experience of over a decade in web application development. Alongside John Crain, he co-founded SuperRare Labs, where he takes the role of CPO. 

Jonathan spent ten years in the Bay area as a software engineer and a start-up founder before relocating to New York City where he worked as a full-stack engineer with a focus on holistic product design from concept to market for clients including HBO and Viacom. 

He also co-founded Kickback Tickets, and CrewSpark, an NYC-based data science startup, where he was involved in product strategy, development, and front-end engineering. He also served at Reaktor as the Software Developer. 

Benchmarking his art skills, Jonathan was instrumental in project management and production for Wells Fargo's Community Mural Program to create and install several hundred graphically designed murals per year in the USA. 

Jonathan holds a BA in digital Media from San Francisco State University, and an Associate of Arts degree in Audio Engineering from City College of San Francisco. He is also an avid surfer.

Biography

Jonathan Perkins is a tech entrepreneur and professional with a diverse background in software development, project management, and startup leadership. He is currently the Co-founder of SuperRare Labs, a groundbreaking platform that allows individuals worldwide to become art collectors in the digital age. Established in March 2018, SuperRare Labs utilises blockchain authentication to create a social marketplace for trading unique digital artworks. With a mission to foster a global art economy fit for the digital age, Jonathan has been at the forefront of driving innovation in the intersection of technology and art.

Prior to his venture into the art world, Jonathan worked as a Software Developer at Reaktor, a global technology and design consultancy based in the Greater New York City Area. During his tenure from April 2016 to March 2018, he contributed as a Full-stack engineer on high-profile projects for esteemed clients such as HBO and Viacom. His role involved collaborating within a multidisciplinary team focused on holistic product design, emphasising lean and agile methodologies.

Jonathan's entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found CrewSpark, a data science startup based in NYC, where he served as Co-founder and Software Developer from August 2015 to July 2016. In this role, he was responsible for product strategy and front-end engineering, showcasing his versatility in navigating the complex landscape of startup development.

Earlier in his career, Jonathan worked with Wells Fargo as a Project Manager from May 2011 to March 2015. In this role, he managed and oversaw Wells Fargo's Community Mural Program, demonstrating his ability to lead focused design teams and execute large-scale projects. His dedication and contributions to the program resulted in the creation and installation of numerous graphically designed murals nationwide.

Jonathan also served as a Product Manager and Developer at Kickback Tickets from January 2012 to November 2013. In this startup co-founder role, he donned multiple hats, engaging in strategic planning, UX/wireframing, front-end development, fundraising, and project management. His adept leadership ensured successful product development and overall business growth.

Jonathan Perkins is a proud alumnus of San Francisco State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media in 2010. He graduated Cum Laude and was actively involved in the Audio Engineering Society. Additionally, he holds an Associate of Arts in Audio Engineering from City College of San Francisco, earned in 2008, where he was also an active member of the Audio Engineering Society. Jonathan's educational background complements his professional journey, showcasing a commitment to excellence and continuous learning in the ever-evolving field of technology.
