A graduate in engineering, a postgraduate in management from Cardiff U.K, and an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, USA, Rahul advocates the concept of channeling the power of youth to augment the country of India with a holistic and value-based education.

Rahul founded MIT School of Government, the first institute of its kind in Asia which is committed to strengthening the fabric of Indian Democratic Leadership. He also founded the leading Indian platform for students interested in politics and development of the country, the “INDIAN STUDENT PARLIAMENT” (BHARATIYA CHHATRA SANSAD). Every year, 10 to 12,000 politically and socially active students from about 450 universities across 29 states of India participate in the annual conclave.

Rahul is also the Founder & Convener of National Women’s Parliament (NWP), a common platform for women from diverse background like politics, industry, the arts and judiciary. Over 18,000 women from colleges of Higher Education were connected to women legislatures, parliamentarians, corporate leaders, and representatives from social sector.

Rahul has also created the National Teachers’ Congress (NTC), a platform for teachers of Higher Education (undergraduate and post-graduate colleges) from across the nation.

He is also the Founder of Rashtriya Sarpanch Sansad, a unique initiative to bring together Sarpanchs from different villages, Government, Media and Experts with a long-term Vision of Rural Development.

Biography

Rahul Vishwanath Karad is a dynamic young Educationist, a committed nationalist, and a true believer in the power of the youth. Rahul is also the Managing Trustee of MAEER’s MIT group of institutions. 

He is the initiator of various programs such as ‘India – The Superpower – Vision 2020?,Bharat Asmita National Awards, Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad, National Teachers’ Congress, National Women’s Parliament, Rashtriya Sarpanch Sansad, National Legislators’ Conference (NLC) Bharat, and several others. His aim is to instill in the youth of the country the importance of engaging in public life and offering youthful, dynamic, ethical, and dedicated leadership to both society and the nation. 

Rahul is also the founder of MIT School of Government (SOG), the first institute in Bharat and Asia that conducts a two-year, full-time program for the youth of Bharat for a career in political leadership. This program, titled ‘Masters Program in Government’ (MPG), trains the aspirants to think like true leaders from day one and tutors them on the functioning of political parties in Bharat as well as the different democratic institutions, right from Gram Panchayat to the Parliament.

Among the diverse range of ventures pursued, one of the most noteworthy initiatives spearheaded by Rahul is the establishment of NLC Bharat. This conference served as a platform for Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs) and Members of Legislative Councils (MLCs) from across the nation to convene and exchange ideas. He envisioned the creation of a non- partisan ecosystem aimed at promoting education, training, skill development, and capacity enhancement. The conference aims to foster interstate and international cooperation among legislators and legislative staff, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the effectiveness and independence of legislative bodies. Through this collaboration, the conference strives to promote democratic values and practices of good governance, thereby strengthening the democratic fabric of the nation.

Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad

Rahul launched an innovative platform, the Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad (BCS) / Indian Student Parliament in 2011. This is a youth movement for the transformation of society, for nurturing dreams and legitimate aspirations of the youth, for building the nation, and for intensifying the ?ame of Indian democratic leadership. The platform works with the objective of bringing the representation of youth in
mainstream political and social democracy and imparts practical leadership training to prepare them to be future leaders of the nation.  

Every year 10 to 12,000 politically and socially active higher education students from about 450 universities across 29 states of India, participate in this annual national conclave.

Bharat Asmita National Awards

Bharat Asmita National Awards was incepted in 2005 by MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions, Pune, in order to inspire many a generation of management gurus, people involved in mass awakening and people in the forefront of Indian Parliamentary Practices for their meaningful contribution in the process of Nation Building.

The board of trustees of MAEER and the Awards Selection Committee have collectively and consciously strived to maintain high standards in their humble endeavor to recognise the exemplary work people have done to add meaningful contribution towards nation building.

As a standard practice, the committee invites more than 15,000 nominations from all sections of the society, which include members of the Union & State cabinets, Members of Parliament, Legislative assemblies & Councils of different states, Bureaucrats, Judiciary & Media Teachers of management Institutions, Film & entertainment fraternity, Writers, NGOs amongst others.

MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutes

MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutes was founded by Prof. (Dr.) Vishwanath D. Karad an eminent educationist, thinker, a devoted teacher and a dedicated social worker who was one of the pioneers in introducing the policies of privatisation of education in the state of Maharashtra. It was established in 1983 under the aegis of the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEER). MAEER’s 

MIT Pune is a 68 Institute strong group with over 55,000 students in disciplines ranging from Engineering, Medicine Management, Pharmacy, Information Technology, Foreign languages, Government and so on. It also hosts the UNESCO chair for Human Rights, Democracy and Peace. The Scientific Advisory Council of MIT Pune consists of eminent people like Dr R. A. Mashelkar, Dr Vijay Bhatkar, Dr V. L. Kelkar, Prof. S. V. Patankar, Shri. Arvind Kirloskar amongst others.
