Rohit Bafna

Rohit Bafna is the Founder and CEO of 888vc, a cross-border venture capital and investment platform. Based in Bengaluru, India, he is an influential angel investor with a strong focus on B2B technology, AI, deep tech, climate tech, and sustainability. He has invested in over 50 startups, with a particular interest in sectors like data analytics, fintech, and information technology. His investment approach is to help startups expand globally, particularly between the US, UAE, and India, by providing funding ranging from $100,000 to $250,000.

He is also an Angel Investor and has served as a Mentor at SOSV MOX, supporting startups in various stages of growth. Rohit is an Angel Investor at BusinessOnBot, GOAT Brand Labs, and Sanfe, contributing to startups in fields like SaaS, fashion, and female hygiene products. 

He held the position of VP, Investments at 9Unicorns, an early-stage fund investing in technology and consumer goods companies, and worked as a Venture Partner at Venture University, where he sourced startups and managed syndicates.

Rohit was a VP at Venture Catalysts, one of India’s top angel funds, and later an AVP, Investments & Portfolios at the same organisation, overseeing global expansion and helping raise the next rounds of funding for portfolio companies. Rohit is also an Angel Investor at Inflection Point Ventures and Sage AP Automation, where he supported the development of a finance management and governance suite. 
 

Additionally, he served as an Investment Specialist at ImpactGuru, a crowdfunding platform for healthcare patients, and as an Angel Investor at HomeCapital, a company focused on downpayment financing for housing loans.
 

Rohit has also contributed to the TiE Silicon Valley as a Member, and has invested in Mate Labs, an ML platform for data analysts. He began his venture capital journey as a Senior Associate at Mumbai Angels Network, where he was responsible for deal sourcing, evaluation, and closure, and as an Associate at ah! Ventures, advising clients on venture capital and private equity transactions.
 

He also invested in Finly, a finance automation platform, which was acquired by a large fintech company in the US. Other companies he has supported include Rooter, Impactguru, Zypp Electric, and Beardo

Rohit Bafna holds a Master of Science in Global Finance from Fordham University, where he specialised in financial theory, raising capital, and managing assets. He also completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Law from Symbiosis International University, gaining expertise in banking laws, mergers & acquisitions, financial regulations, and corporate governance. During his time at Fordham, he was involved in the Fordham Investor Relations Club, Fordham IB/PE/VC Club, and Fordham Net Impact.

Rohit Bafna was born and raised in Bengaluru, India. He completed his schooling at Central Academy (CBSE) in Jodhpur, where he was actively involved in mathematics and participated in national Olympiads. 

After finishing his senior secondary examination, he pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Law at Symbiosis International University. During his time at university, he became well-versed in various legal aspects related to banking and finance, mergers & acquisitions, corporate laws, taxation laws, and international trade laws. He was also part of the university's Research & Publication Cell and Moot Court Society.

In 2021, Rohit moved to New York to pursue a Master of Science (MS) in Global Finance at Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business. His course work covered financial theory, investment management, corporate finance, and emerging trends such as ESG, data analytics, and fintech. He was an active member of several clubs, including the Fordham Investor Relations Club and the Fordham IB/PE/VC Club. Rohit graduated in 2022 with an outstanding academic record and specialised knowledge in global finance.
 

Rohit’s professional career began with his involvement in venture capital. He was part of the core team at Venture Catalysts, India's first integrated incubator, where he worked on supporting early-stage startups. Rohit later became a Venture Partner at 9Unicorns VC, contributing to the growth of tech startups in India. He also served as a Chapter Associate at Mumbai Angels Network and as an Associate at ah! Ventures, where he was involved in evaluating investment opportunities and providing strategic support to entrepreneurs.
 

In 2022, Rohit founded 888vc, a cross-border venture capital platform. At 888vc, he focuses on connecting investors across the US, UAE, and India to support and scale startups in sectors like AI, deep tech, and climate tech. As the CEO, he has led investments in over 50 startups, investing between $100k to $250k USD. His platform helps startups expand globally by providing both funding and strategic mentorship.
