Caroline York is a seasoned strategy and communications expert with over a decade of experience across various industries, including fintech, retail, and digital innovation. Her career began after completing her Bachelor of Arts in Egyptian Archaeology at University College London (UCL) in 2010. Following her undergraduate studies, she pursued a Doctor of Law (J.D.) at The University of Hong Kong, which she completed in 2012.
York's professional journey commenced in the retail sector, where she served as a Marketing Executive at Dragon Crowd Enterprise (China) Ltd. from August 2012 to August 2013. During this time, she was responsible for daily operations in trade marketing and social media content creation, coordinating with third-party service providers to execute marketing strategies across online and offline platforms.
In August 2013, she advanced to the role of Brand Manager at Dragon Crowd Enterprise, overseeing the marketing strategy for SCHIESSER, a German undergarments specialist. York was tasked with devising and leading multi-million marketing campaigns across 20 cities and managing over 300 stores in Greater China. Her leadership extended to a team of 25 professionals, and she remained in this role until August 2017.
York's next significant role was as the Executive Director at Gusella International Holding Ltd., where she led the revitalisation of GUSELLA, a heritage Italian childrenswear brand. During her tenure from August 2017 to August 2018, she achieved threefold growth for the brand and established regional teams in Milan, Beijing, and Hong Kong, contributing to the company's rapid expansion across three different markets.
In November 2020, York transitioned to the fintech sector, becoming the Head of Corporate Communications at AQUMON, Asia's leading digital wealth management firm. Reporting directly to the CEO, she was responsible for company-wide strategy and communications, managing brand content, media relations, investor communications, partnership outreach, and corporate training. Her tenure at AQUMON lasted until July 2022.
York currently serves as the Director of Marketing at Gusto Collective, a BrandTech firm based in Hong Kong. Since July 2022, she has been leading group-wide communications and brand strategy, reporting directly to the CEO and Founder.
