Biography
Dr. Gaurav Gandhi was born with a passion for technology, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, nonlinear systems, and chaos theory. His academic journey began with his undergraduate studies in Electronics and Communications Engineering at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology.
Following this, Dr. Gandhi advanced his education with a PhD in Infobionics from Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Hungary, which he completed in 2008 with Summa Cum Laude honours. His doctoral research focused on neural networks, chaos theory, and nonlinear systems, and it led to significant breakthroughs in the understanding and teaching of chaos theory.
His research was published in international journals and received widespread attention, with his work being broadcast on Hungarian national TV. His most notable achievement during this period was the development of educational products designed to teach chaos theory to high school students, which were later used worldwide.
After completing his PhD, Dr. Gandhi worked at STMicroelectronics Pvt Ltd from 2002 to 2005 as a Design Engineer, where he contributed to the development of a multi-standard automotive toll traffic control chip. He played a key role in the project, which was delivered a month ahead of schedule, and he was awarded Employee of the Quarter in 2003 for his outstanding performance. He also pioneered a new method for mixed-signal simulations, which was incorporated into the company's SOC design flow, further reducing product development time.
From 2006 to 2007, Dr. Gandhi worked as a Research Associate at EPFL in Switzerland, where he developed a charge threshold logic (CTL)-based CNN network design. This project contributed to the development of neural network designs that would later influence chaos-based computing systems. He then worked at Cadence Design Systems as a Senior Member of Technical Staff from 2008 to 2010, where he gained expertise in technical solution design and enterprise IT strategy.
In 2010, Dr. Gandhi founded mLabs Research, Inc., where he led groundbreaking research into memristors—a newly identified fundamental circuit element. His team at mLabs discovered that one of the first wireless radio detectors, the “cat’s whisker”, had memristive properties, a finding that was later published in IEEE CAS Magazine in 2013.
His work on memristors led to the development of the memristor circuit kit, an educational tool that is now used globally in teaching chaos theory and nonlinear systems. Over the course of his work at mLabs, Dr. Gandhi and his team received more than two dozen patents related to AI-driven software, hardware, and semiconductor solutions.
From 2017 to 2020, Dr. Gandhi co-founded Qurious, a company focused on providing AI-powered solutions for curiosity-driven learning. As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he developed the QnA as a Service platform, which was adopted by enterprise clients in sectors such as consultancy, oil and gas, and education across the US, UK, and Europe. He integrated advanced algorithms into the platform to improve user engagement and retention.
In 2024, Dr. Gandhi founded Everyday Series, a company that focuses on developing AI-native infrastructure for solo builders and micro-product creators. The company operates on an AI-first philosophy, aiming to empower individuals and enterprises to build scalable, modular solutions using Generative AI. Everyday Series launched its private beta in 2024, offering tools such as knowledge graphs and recommendation engines to assist in product and business development.
Dr. Gandhi has contributed extensively to the field of AI and technology innovation, publishing over 250 blog articles and speaking at major international conferences. His work has been featured in publications like Fast Company, IEEE Spectrum, and MIT Alumni Magazine, where he discusses agentic AI and the democratisation of AI. He is the founder of several online communities, including AI Creatives, which has grown to 15,000 members, where he fosters collaboration among AI developers and creators.
In addition to his entrepreneurial work, Dr. Gandhi has made contributions to the academic and public understanding of AI, having served as an expert mentor for the UNLEASH Innovation Lab in Singapore in 2019, where he focused on Quality Education (SDG). He has also been actively involved in fostering global developer communities and promoting AI and technology education.
Dr. Gandhi continues to drive innovation through Everyday Series, working towards developing scalable, AI-powered solutions that bridge the gap between emerging technologies and real-world applications. His vision for AI is focused on creating a human-centric AI ecosystem, where technologies are used to empower individuals and businesses to solve complex, real-world problems effectively.
