Jordan Harrod is a Ph.D. candidate in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics at the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology programme. Her research focuses on applying neuromodulation to solve clinical challenges and using neurotechnology with machine learning to create advanced tools for brain stimulation. She works under prominent mentors, including Dr. Ed Boyden and Dr. Emery Brown. Jordan Harrod was born in the United States. She is currently a PhD candidate in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics at the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology programme. In 2018, Jordan earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University. During her undergraduate studies, she worked on interfacial tissue engineering, medical image analysis, and machine learning applications for MRI reconstruction. Her senior design project involved developing a non-invasive rodent vital monitoring system, which won first place in Cornell's Meinig School Showcase Competition.

Following her graduation, Jordan joined MIT, where she expanded her expertise in neuroscience and artificial intelligence. Between 2018 and 2019, she contributed to projects on secure encryption for HIPAA-compliant medical imaging at the MIT Media Lab. She also served as a Science Communication Consultant for the MIT International Policy Lab, focusing on strategies for public engagement.

In 2018, she launched a YouTube channel dedicated to explaining artificial intelligence, neurotechnology, and algorithms to a general audience.
