Alvin Foo

Alvin Foo is a business and technology leader with over 25 years of experience across the Asia Pacific region. He has held senior leadership roles in major global organisations, including Nokia, Omnicom, Interpublic Group, and Google. Alvin is a co-founder of DAOventures, a smart multi-chain asset manager offering a range of automated DeFi investment strategies. He also co-founded NASDEX, a regulated semi-decentralised exchange that enables trading in tokenised real-world assets, and Metafyed, a Web 3.0 investment bank focused on real-world asset tokenisation.

Alvin currently serves as a Venture Partner at Zero2Launch, a company specialising in launching startups in the crypto space. He is also a Co-Founder at ThirdFi, a DeFi infrastructure platform that provides an all-in-one API for developers and fintech companies. He mentors startups through his roles at the German Accelerator, SparkLabs, and Orbit Startups. His contributions to the startup ecosystem also include being a board member of I-COM Global, an organisation focused on marketing data and technology.

Alvin’s previous roles include serving as Managing Director at Reprise Digital and Head of Mobility & Innovation at Omnicom Media Group, China. He was also Head of Mobile for Greater China at Google, where he led mobile advertising sales and business development. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Velti, Nokia, Madhouse, and Swift Advertising.

Alvin Foo is also an advisor to various organisations, including NOIZ and Proventeus Capital. He is a Managing Partner at Chain Valley Capital, which supports early-stage blockchain and Web 3.0 projects. Alvin holds an LLB in Laws from Brunel University London and a high school certificate from St John’s Institution. He is actively involved in mentoring and supporting innovative startups globally.

Alvin Foo was born and raised in Malaysia. He completed his high school education at St. John’s Institution, earning his Secondary Certificate in 1988. He then pursued higher education in the United Kingdom, graduating with an LLB degree in Law from Brunel University London in 1993. After completing his studies, Alvin embarked on his career in advertising and marketing.

In 1995, Alvin began his professional journey as a Director at Swift Advertising. He then took on the role of CEO at Via Communication Network from July 1997 to November 2006, where he spent nearly a decade developing his expertise in business management and marketing, building a solid foundation for his future endeavours in the tech and business sectors.

Alvin Foo transitioned into the technology and advertising industry in 2006 when he joined Madhouse Inc. as an Executive Director. He moved to Nokia in 2007, serving as the Head of China for Nokia Interactive's Advertising Business Unit, leading advertising operations in a highly competitive market. From 2008 to 2011, Alvin Foo served as Vice President for Asia at Velti, a mobile marketing firm, where he played a crucial role in expanding the company’s presence across the region.

In 2011, Alvin Foo joined Google as Head of Mobile for Greater China. During his two-year tenure, he managed mobile advertising sales and business development, significantly contributing to Google’s growth in the region. Following his time at Google, Alvin Foo took up the role of Head of Mobility & Innovation at Omnicom Media Group, China, from September 2013 to March 2018, focusing on developing innovative strategies in the media and advertising sectors.

In 2018, Alvin Foo became the Managing Director at Reprise Digital, a global 4As digital agency, where he led digital operations in Shanghai until June 2020. Simultaneously, he served as a Marketing Advisor for TradeHero, a startup offering stock trading insights and a social platform for investors, enhancing the platform’s visibility and user engagement.

Alvin Foo’s entrepreneurial ventures gained momentum with the co-founding of DAOventures in early 2020, a smart multi-chain asset manager offering a wide range of automated DeFi investment strategies. DAOventures aims to simplify DeFi asset management for individuals, providing tools and platforms to optimise investments in decentralised finance. This initiative reflects Alvin Foo’s dedication to making DeFi more accessible and manageable for a broader audience.

In March 2020, Alvin Foo co-founded ThirdFi, a Web 3.0 and DeFi infrastructure platform designed to provide an all-in-one API for developers and fintech companies, facilitating the integration of blockchain technologies into traditional systems. In June 2021, Alvin Foo co-founded NASDEX, a semi-decentralised exchange that enables trading in tokenised real-world assets, such as private equity, real estate, and stocks. His involvement in these ventures underscores his vision of integrating traditional finance with blockchain technology.

Further expanding his influence in the Web 3.0 space, Alvin Foo co-founded Metafyed in July 2023, a Web 3.0 investment bank focused on democratizing capital through Security Token Offerings (STOs).
